The Mackay Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, representing a cross section of the regions’ business and community groups.




Ian Joblin B. Bus. FCPA

Chairman and Director since 2015

Ian has worked in Public Practice Accounting for over 25 years. He became of partner of Brown & Bird in 1999. It has been a diverse career with varied service deliveries for clients including secondment as a chief financial officer for a major national firm, company secretary and board positions including subsequent membership on committees such as audit and risk, mergers and acquisitions and business development. Ian has also developed a specialisation in local government service provision providing holistic solutions for all business and financial requirements of those clients. He is a firm believer in giving to the community and has done so via committee, coaching and mentoring positions.
   Adrienne Rourke
Deputy Chair and Director since 2015

Adrienne has extensive experience in marketing and business development, and was the first executive officer of Mackay Community Foundation. Adrienne recently completed a Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy & Not for Profit Studies through a scholarship from the George Alexander Foundation.

Adrienne is currently the manager at Resource Industry Network, a not for profit membership co-operative promoting the regions industry capability.

Adrienne’s has very established links in Mackay with her family’s history going back many generations. She is passionate about giving back to her home town and want to encourage others to consider making a donation that will make a significant different in someone’s lives, now and into the future.

Steve is a partner at Alman Partners and has over 20 years experience in the financial planning profession and business management field. Steve has previously held the roles of Secretary of the Financial Planning Association, Mackay Chapter & Secretary of Port of Mackay Rotary Club.

Nick Bennett Dip Bus, Dip Bus & Workplace Coaching, PCC, FAIPF

Director since 2010

After working as a leadership coach and management consultant across regional Australia, Nick created Minds Aligned to use his extensive practical  experience in training and facilitation, business development, recruitment, marketing and sales to assist others develop their leadership and business skills.  Nick is currently on the board of Mackay Tourism Ltd and Hepatitis Council Qld. 

Cr Greg Williamson

Director since 2016

Greg is a 5th generation Mackay local and brings a wealth of business, political, community and defence experience to the new Mackay Regional Council to which he was elected Mayor in 2016. He served as Mayor of Mackay City Council 1991 - 1994, prior to the amalgamation of the City and the Pioneer Shire. In the 22 years since, his business career has seen roles such as the Regional General Manager for Queensland and the Northern Territory at Chandler MacLeod (one of Australia’s largest Human Resources companies); the founding General Manager of national aerospace staffing firm Aero Ready; and 8 years’ experience in General Management in heavy engineering supply and service to the Queensland mining industry. Greg has an organisational reputation focus, demonstrated expertise in people management, and a demonstrated commitment to community service. Outside of business, he is a licenced pilot and has had over thirty-five years’ service in the Australian Air Force Cadets where he holds the rank of Group Captain (AAFC). Greg is married to Annette and they have two adult children.


Erin Mulherin
Director since 2013

Erin commenced her working life as a court and parliamentary reporter.  After moving to Mackay in 1995, she gained extensive public sector experience, working with vulnerable and disadvantaged members of the community.  She has a strong interest in building and maintaining partnerships and community engagement. Erin works as a Management Consultant and also sits on the CQ University’s Regional Engagement Committee.


Dorne Wallace AFAIM
Director since 2013

With a long family connection to the Mackay community,  Dorne & her husband Stephen returned to live here permanently in 2002 . Dorne has 20 years experience in the Community Services sector, working in a diverse range of services areas in both service delivery and management positions, at Sunshine Coast, Fraser Coast & Mackay.  She has particular interest in Community Engagement & Development & Community Services management.  Dorne joined CQTAFE in 2003 & held teaching & management roles in the Community Services & Engineering & Construction faculties until moving into the Health & Community Business Development role with CQUniversity in 2011. She retired from this role in 2013 & is currently a volunteer with some local NGOs .

  Jordan Miller

Director since 2015

Jordan understands the importance of developing and fostering strong relationships. Jordan has a passion for helping professionals of all ages in regional areas, to develop their personal brand and to build strong social and business networks. In 2008, Jordan’s passion for people and building others up, led him to found YP (Young Professionals) Mackay.  YP (Young Professionals) is a social group that brings together like-minded entrepreneurs, business owners and professionals from a range of career types and industries. YP offers regular social catch-ups, educational and personal development events. The group has grown from a simple idea, to now having over 500 members. Jordan’s day job is working with the team at Herron Todd White. He initially joined Herron Todd White in 2005 as an Assistant Valuer. In July 2010, Jordan was appointed as an Associate Director and Shareholder of the Central Queensland group.  Jordan is a member of the Diversify Mackay Leadership Alliance.

  Nic Willis

Director since 2015

Nic Willis moved to Mackay in 1999 where she joined the Recruitment Industry following her passion of connecting people and business. Fostering strong relationships across all industries in Mackay was further enhanced by Nic serving on the Australian Institute of Management between 2006-2012 and being fundamental in the success of the Regional Management of Excellence Awards. Nic has previously been a part of the Regional Economic Development Commission Steering Committee for Skills Shortage, the Welcome to Mackay Centre Committee and more recently the Walk for Juvenile Diabetes. Nic believes that any successful business has a social responsibility to give back to the community.
